Ladies are always looking for the perfect little black dress. Am I right?! Well, I think I hit the jackpot with this one! This is the high-neck jersey swing dress from Old Navy.
This dress has a modest neckline and a modest length. Not to mention the cut is flowy and flattering on all body types. Sizes come in regular and tall and range from XS – XXL. For reference, I am 5’1″, 115 lbs, and purchased the regular XS. This size typically hits me mid-thigh, but this dress extends further and hits me just above the knee.
The best part about this dress is the many ways it can be styled! It’s cool enough for summer and can be layered for colder months. Dress it up for business or a nice event, and dress it down for date night or errands! Can you tell that it is versatile?!
Originally $30, I snagged this beauty on sale for only $8 at my local Old Navy. If you missed the sale, definitely wait for the next one. Old Navy is known for having constant sales online and in stores! I have also seen this dress on sale for $15. Either way, you shouldn’t pay full price for it! But note: typically only regular sizes are carried in stores (not tall or petite).
Here are 8 ways to style
this perfect dress!
1. With a lace bralette
2. As a swimsuit coverup
This is also a great dress to cover up a swimsuit! It’s lightweight and flowy, so it’s perfect for the pool or beach. Not to mention: black is flattering!
3. With a blazer
Layer this dress with a blazer and add a pair of heels or flats for a professional look! You’ll be ready for your day full of meetings and be comfy!
4. For a nice evening
Simply pair with dress with a pair of drop earrings and heels for an evening out of the house. This is perfect for a nice event, a wedding, or a fancy date night!
5. Jean jacket + knot
Achieve this casual look by layering the dress with a jean jacket (a classic staple that I recommend you keep in your closet) and tying the bottom of the dress in a side knot.
6. With sneakers
This dress is so versatile that it even looks good with slippers or slip-ons! I love the trendy knot look so I tied the dress again here.
7. With a cardigan
Add a cardigan to increase modesty and add coverage (and also warmth). I think this look is great for teachers or a casual work environment!
8. With booties and leather
My final look for this dress is a little edgy! Add some booties and a leather jacket for a great concert outfit or night out on the town. I also added silver hoop earrings!
After styling this dress 8 different ways, I asked my husband which style he liked best. He replied that his favorite is a 9th style: on the floor. HA! Men…
There you have it! That concludes 8 ways to style this one dress! This may just be the best $8 that I have ever spent!
