DIY Porch Snack Bucket

Posted by Ashley Robustelli on

With the recent surge in online orders nationwide, our delivery drivers deserve more than a 'thank you' from us. UPS, FedEx, USPS, Amazon, etc. are working HARD (with a lot of overtime) to deliver all of our items in a timely manner. At my house it seems we get deliveries daily! So I wanted to treat my delivery drivers because I know how hard they work for us. I put together this simple treat bucket for them, and it only cost me a few dollars.

First, I found this plastic bucket at Hobby Lobby. It's only $5 and part of the Spring Collection which is already marked down 40% off! So it only cost $3, and it comes in a wide variety of colors (green, black, white, aqua, blush). It's lightweight, has cutout handles, and is perfect for this project.

Next, I purchased snacks to fill the bucket! This was as simple as walking down the snack isle at the grocery store and grabbing a few multi-pack foods. I ended up with Goldfish, chips, granola bars, and peanut butter crackers. Once I began to fill the bucket, I traded out a few of these snacks with some in our pantry to add variety for the drivers to choose from. You can even add small bottles of water, gatorade, etc. Just keep in mind that this will be sitting outside in the warmer months, so choose foods/drink that will not melt or spoil in the heat.

Finally, I added a note so the drivers would know these snacks are for them! I handlettered and designed this simple graphic and printed it out on regular printer paper. You can find the free printable here if you'd like to complete this project too. To attach the design, I used 2 strips of wide shipping tape to secure it to one side of the bucket.

And that's it! Set this outside on your porch (not overnight - you don't want critters!) when you know you'll be receiving packages. You can set it on the ground or elevate it by setting it on top of a bench, plant stand, etc.

And then watch the happy faces of your drivers on the security camera!

  • What an incredibly gracious jester! Since the pandemic began, I have done all my shopping online. Amazon and Walmart have been life-savers! When I think of the poor souls who deliver our 3 huge, heavy Chewy boxes every month, my back automatically starts hurting! So thank you, for sharing your printable and your thoughtful act of kindness. I can’t wait to get this set up to show my appreciation to these men and women who do so much more than they could ever be compensated for. Blessings to you.
